Hey everybody Shane! Hahn here, the founder of Pussing Eye Productions. I know this is a bit premature considering Pussing Eye Productions anniversary isn't until June 27th, but whatever we usually celebrate on my birthday, which is June 29th.
9 years ago Monday, we shot the piece of footage you see below of a little underground band, that you may have heard of, called GOTHAM ROAD at a small laundry mat / rock bar named 'Sudsy Malones' in Cincinnati. June 27th spawned what you all know today as Pussing Eye Productions.
That was the day I had filmed any live act for the first-time. Anytime before that, I just filmed friends and family, made my own little home movies with the camera and anything else I did in my Radio/TV Production days in school. But I was a young naive early 20 something at the time and I don't think I realized what I was filming, how I was doing it or what it could become. Before that point in time, shows were just shows to me. They were (and stll are) very enjoyable, great crowds and great music. Yeah, I knew the histories of bands and what not, but I never fully dived into any certain scenes or anything. I guess you could say I was a learner and this was the day I was taught.
In these 9 years, I have developed many great friendships with not just the locals fans I have grown accustom to at many of the various shows over the many years, but with the bands themselves and some of the thousands of fans around the World. If you told me 9 years ago when I was on stage with Gotham Road filming the chaos that ensued, that I would develope Pussing Eye Productions into what it has become and help with the many branches that grew from it such as Horror-Punks.com, I wouldn't have believed a word of it.
9 years later, it's more than just a show and filming a killer band to me. It's who I am and probably who the majority of you reading this are. It's more than just a scene, it's what we do and what we can do to support each other in our creativity. It' s what fuels us and keeps us going. It's what we do not because we are obligated, it's what we do because we can and can be successful at it, whether it's personal success or financial. IT'S OURS!
